here's to growing up!

It's hard to believe that in less than two months I will be living in a whole new town with all new people. Although Murray, Kentucky is less than three hours away, that is three hours farther away from all that is familiar to me. I have been talking about this day for the last four years and now that it is almost here, I don't think I'm ready for it. A part of me wishes that I would've stayed in Evansville and gone to University of Southern Indiana, but the other part of me knows that this will be good for me and I will meet a lot of new people. A lot of opportunities will arise from me stepping out of my comfort zone and into a new setting. I just need to keep telling myself that. It has always been difficult for me to take that first step. But I know once I'm there I will be perfectly fine. It's crazy for my parents to think that their baby girl is growing up!

After taking a peer tutoring class my senior year I thought that Special Education would be a good major for me. But I think I will just get my core classes out of the way and explore other majors before deciding on one. Last week I began my summer internship at Allstate Insurance, and although at times the work may be, I really enjoy the responsibility of the job.

This summer will be filled with lots of memories and I will be sure to cherish all the moments with friends and family because in a couple weeks, I'll be on my own! But until then...I will take each day as it comes!
